Timothy Robert Weil Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Achievements in Computer Security

Mr. Weil is living out his high school "mad science" dreams with a long career in the IT and Communications industries.. In the 1980s, he was one of the early adopters of the personal computer and information technology era, and he developed a broad skill set for the computer science industry. Today, Mr. Weil is a security architect and IT security manager, with over 25 years of management, consulting, and engineering experience in both the private and government sectors. He holds numerous certifications in information systems, and is currently a network operations project manager leading security initiatives, auditing procedures, and cloud security for Alcohol Monitoring Systems (AMS) in Colorado. AMS provides continuous alcohol monitoring, offender management (GPS monitoring), and other high technology solutions to the criminal justice and corrections industry markets.
After high school, Mr. Weil studied humanities, ultimately earning a BA in Sociology with honors from the Immaculate Heart College and entering the field of bilingual teaching. He studied computer science graduate courses at California State University, Chico, in the '80s, and earned a Master of Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University in 1990. Mr. Weil can trace his career arc through progressive education and job experience, which has informed his current profession. His communication skills have been useful in explaining technical ecosystems to managers, software developers, and general educators. Mr. Weil attributes his success to persistence and dealing with complexities, in addition to the fact that he is a good writer and speaker. He is an industry-certified security and privacy professional (CISSP), a Cloud Computing Security Professional (CCSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), IT Auditor (CISA) and Risk and IS Control (CRISC).
From 2005-2009, Mr. Weil found success as an associate and IT security architect of Booz Allen Hamilton, providing security design, compliance and security engineering to many federal agency clients, He returned to Colorado in to 2010 to work as an information security program manager for the US Antarctic Program, under contract to Raytheon Technical Services. From June 2014 to June 2015, he worked with the U.S. Department of the Interior as a risk management contractor, administrating a staff of information security professionals to conform to the standards required by the National Institute of Standards and Technology as well as the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002. He has also recently consulted and contracted with Coalfire Public Sector to create their ISO 27001certification line of business.
Throughout his career Mr. Weil has been an active volunteer for the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He is a published author and has a 2-year appointment on the Editorial Board for IEEE IT Professional Magazine. Having several as conference chair for IEEE GREENTECH and patron chair for IEEE GLOBECOM conferences, in 2015 he was awarded the IEEE-USA National Service Award for conference and program development. He is also the past Chair of the IEEE Washington DC and Denver sections. Mr. Weil has an active National Agency Check with Inquiries security clearance, and has worked in risk management and engineering for various agencies in the U.S. federal government.
